I hate the holidays when I’m away from home. As far as I’m concerned, they’re milestones to cross until I can go home again.
Sorry, no picture.

I am the opposite. But I’m single without my own family and there’s not much for me at home.
Do you mean work holidays?

ive never spent them at my home yet..... i would love to... but if i stay here my side of the family will insist i come spend it with them coz gramma is a hundred and seventy five years old now and you dont know how much longer she’ll be around.... and if i dont stay here that means im in england with the wifes family coz they are so lonelies now the wife has moved out of the country
dont get me wrong... i love em all to bits... but just once i’d like to be at home with me own tree and me own bed and just the missus and daughter
course... in general... i dont like being away from home (used to be i hated being home... but that all changed once i got my very own home)

Could be worse.
I absolutely cannot fucking stand being home for the holidays. I cannot.
That means I have to deal with at least six very vocal, openly aggressive, bigoted, racist, white-supremacists. With any luck I will have the new gig I want by Christmastime. Which will allow me to get into the 997.2 and drive my ass far, far away from the shitshow before I straight up murder someone.

Same here. The kids and I desperately wish to stay home this year. But we have two colleges to visit and since that takes us near my sister-in-law’s house we must be obligated to visit her and then since we’re out that direction, we absolutely must go see....
You know how it goes. Another holiday with four of us crammed into the car for seven days.

I spent several holidays, birthdays and anniversaries in various nooks and crannies of the globe. It sucks, but my God does it make you appreciate everything about home that much more. I miss a lot about my active duty years, but I don’t miss being gone.
